Looking out over Elie harbour and the Firth of Forth, Wynd House, built in 1584, is just 10 miles from St. Andrews in the heart of the coastal village of Elie.

Wynd House and its two garden cottages are enclosed within a walled garden. Guests can choose between B&B accommodation in Wynd House for a night or two, or stay in our garden cottages for two nights or longer.

Guests can enjoy the enjoy the sea views from our B&B rooms, and our. Our private sea garden sauna is available for guests to book. We cater for parties large and small.

Wynd House is home to descendants of Admiral Sir Andrew Wood, ‘Scotland’s Nelson”, and we are the 11th generation of the Wood family to live here and welcome visitors. 

Wynd’s extensive ‘secret’ gardens are enclosed within a medieval stone wall, offering peace and privacy despite its central location in the village.  

Wynd House, Wynd Cottage and 36 High Street are a stone’s throw from the local shops, and on the Fife Coastal Path.

Guests can book our private sea garden sauna and enjoy the sea garden for sea swimming. Wynd House is unique accommodation in the Elie and the East Neuk!

The Elie golf courses, tennis and padel courts, the Ship Inn pub and watersports are just a short walk, Dumbarnie Links golf course and Kinneuchar Inn are five minutes drive.

    • Perfect location

      We spent a wonderful Easter weekend in Fiona’s beautiful house. It was full of character and extremely comfortable. The beautiful large garden was wonderful for our boys to be able to play in and the location next to the beach, deli and pub was perfect.

    • Full of quirky character

      Wynd Cottage is full of quirky character and is set in a peaceful walled garden close to the sea and a short walk to a pub with great food. It’s not especially modern which is part of its charm, but the beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of hot water and a powerful shower. All you need for a seaside break! The hosts were friendly and helpful.

      We felt right at home straight away. Such a comfortable bed and lovely towels too. So close to a beautiful beach and lovely walks plus we had a day in Edinburgh using the local train.
